Kenneth Hahn State Recreational Area
In addition to good weather, having a pretty view helps make a picnic a bit more special. One of those gorgeous views in Los Angeles is around the corner from your Upper Ivy apartments for rent in Culver City. The Kenneth Hahn State Recreational Area should ring a bell. For those who need a refresher, Kenneth Hahn is over 300 acres between Culver City and Baldwin Hills. It includes over seven miles of hiking trails, a fishing lake, Japanese gardens, and biking trails. Then, of course, dozens of spots for a picnic. The MLK Jr. Memorial Grove is our go-to spot. All that said, we highly suggest combining your picnic day with a hike. When you get to this monument and the adjoining green space, you will get the best view of downtown Los Angeles to accompany your picnic.

Vista Hermosa Natural Park
Speaking of our love for the downtown LA skyline, there is also the Vista Hermosa Natural Park. The grassy central area has a half-dozen dedicated picnic areas, all with a great view of the DTLA skyline but from a ground-level perspective.
Griffith Park
Last but certainly not least, the iconic Griffith Park. Of all the spots on this list, this is our favorite. You almost forget that you are living in Los Angeles while picnicking here. There are numerous locations to park your picnic basket. There is the Crystal Springs Area along with Fern Dell as well as the Griffith Observatory front lawn.
