The first day of fall is upon us! Los Angeles may be known for having summer weather all year round, but there are a handful of fall activities in Los Angeles around your Upper Ivy Culver City apartments for rent. Starting with where to see fall foliage.
Fall Activities in Los Angeles – Where to Find Fall Foliage
Oak Glen
About an hour and a half away from your apartments for rent in Culver City is Oak Glen. Fall is a pretty big deal here. Oak Glen is also known as apple country, and upon arrival, you will be greeted with an array of bright colors. We suggest enjoying the fall foliage here while sipping on homemade apple cider from the local ranches.
The Malibu Creek State Park
The Santa Monica Mountains provide some of the best opportunities for local leaf-peeping, and at Malibu Creek Park, you’ll discover some lovely old-growth trees that turn all shades of fall as cooler air comes to town. This gorgeous spot is about 25 miles away from your Culver City apartments for rent in Los Angeles.

Descanso Gardens
Over in La Cañada, about 20 miles from your Culver City apartments for rent, is one of our favorite botanical gardens in Los Angeles. The Descanso Gardens are home to more than 600 varieties of camellia flower (best seen between February and May). But there is plenty to see during the fall months, October and November especially. Speaking of gardens, other favorites are the Huntington Library and the LA Arboretum.
Honorable Mentions
We want to make a special mention to two other spots. Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear may be a bit further out, but worth the visit if you’re going to see some true fall colors. Plus, they are the perfect spots for a weekend getaway! With both Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead, fall is a spectacular time to visit this forested getaway. You can leave the city behind and surround yourself with the smell of pine and the trees turning those beautiful fall shades you cannot deny.
